Best Formula Ever

I have tried 3 different formula's with my little Zoe: Similac, Enfamil and Earth's Best. Earth's Best is the formula that agrees with her system the most. Her poo's are regular and much less offensive, she doesn't spit it up as much, it tastes better, it is just so good. It also doesn't hurt that it is all organic and there are no harmful chemicals in it. It is also about the same price as the others. I am so glad I found this formula. When she was on Similac she would not poo for 3 days and then it would be so much and it was a strange green color, the same thing happened with Enfamil. With Earth's Best, her poo's are a normal color, consistency and texture (they are not all liquidy like with the others). I encourage everyone who is using formula to try it for a bit, just one can and you will see the difference. It is awesome.

Happy New Year!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year.  Our family tradition is to have pork and sourkraut with mashed potatoes.  What are yours?

Christmas Wrap Up

My little Zoe had an excellent first Christmas. She had more presents than anyone else, which made my 16 year old sister a little jealous. The present Zoe loved the most was her seahorse. She loves staring at, chewing on and talking to that seahorse. It is so adorable. She was not a fan of the octotunes that I loved so much, but she is too little to use it right now. She, of course, looks adorable in all her clothes.
We had great first Christmas, how was yours?

Gifts from Grandma

This year grandma went overboard on gifts for our little Zoe. It is my mothers first grandchild, so she wants her to have a huge Christmas. She got her a hand puppet book called Old MacDonald , a Piglet blankie , a baby book called Who Do You See? , another book called the Classic Characters of Little Golden Books. The Little Golden Book is my favorite gift. My mother and I looked through the book together before purchasing it and I remembered her reading most of those stories to me when I was little. "The Pokey Little Puppy" was my favorite story when I was small, I had forgotten that I really liked "Good Night, Little Bear" until I saw the pictures and remembered loving that story. It is really amazing having my first child and bonding with my mother in a whole new way.

What to Get a 2 Month Old for Christmas

My little Zoe just turned 2 months old on the 11th of December.  Christmas is a time of gift giving and seeing the joy in the little ones eyes as you give them a gift that they truly wanted.  The problem is a 2 month old only wants 3 things: to eat, to sleep and to be changed.  So, what do you buy for a 2 month old?  People told me to get her clothes since she doesn't care anyway.  That is a nice suggestion, but it feels wrong, although she is not aware that Christmas is the time when she will make out like a bandit, it is known that children hate getting clothes for Christmas.  So, since it is her first Christmas and she is small I stuck to basic toys.  There is this really adorable toy that I got her called Octotunes by Lamaze It requires no batteries and he has the sweetest little face, it is an octopus that has horns for tentacles, you squeeze the horns and they play different notes.  It comes with a song book and the tentacles are color coded.  It truly is adorable. I also got her a Fisher Price Seahorse, it plays music and her little tummy lights up. It is kind of like a glow worm. It is so cute and it is a toy that I think my little Zoe will enjoy through her entire babyhood. We, of course, got her clothes as well, I just think that it is important to get her something that she will enjoy when she is a little older, or hopefully now. She does smile at stuff she likes. I also got her some books, she likes it when I read to her. We don't have very many books yet, but her favorite book so far is called Go Track a Yak. The pictures are very rich and the rhyme scheme is easy to read aloud, and of course it has to do with a yak. That just makes it so much better.  It can be tough to find stuff for a 2 month old because they can't really sit up on their own and they can't see very far.  The best advice I have is to get something that you can play with for them.  My Zoe hates tummy time so getting her stuff like that will just upset her, although she does enjoy her boppy on occasion. She mostly likes to lay on her back and look up, though.
